There are five libraries in Knowsley offering opportunities to read, meet, learn, socialise and get online. There’s also free e-Book and e-Audiobooks for you to borrow too.
Regular activities take place in the borough’s libraries including word and picture sessions for pre-school children, after school and holiday activities for children, reading groups, adult learning sessions, family history desk, craft sessions and so much more!
You can also access PCs and WiFi for free and Digital Buddies are on-hand to help you to get online.
Libraries are currently offering extended opening hours, providing Warm Hubs to support residents through the cost of living crisis. All libraries are open from 10am until 5pm Monday to Friday and 10am until 1pm on Saturday.

The Library Service also offers a home delivery service. Knowsley residents can borrow spoken word CDs, books (including large print) and children’s books (up to five books can be borrowed at a time). They are delivered to you every four weeks. You may also wish to register for the online e-Books service, which allows you to download and read e-Books and e-Audiobooks on your computer or mobile device at home. If so, please send an email with your name, address and postcode to [email protected] and a membership number and pin will be emailed to you.
The Archive Resource for Knowsley (ARK) is located in Kirkby Library and includes documents, maps and photographs that are unique to Knowsley’s past. There is also a large collection of local and family history books and resources.

Family historians can access Ancestry Library Edition free of charge on all public PCs in Libraries.
